For information about Daegu accessibility of public transport, see the facility status. A low-floor bus provides accessibility for wheelchair users. You can check the bus stop signage that has a list of each low-floor bus number that passes through that stop. Daegu manages the second largest low-floor bus networks in Korea.
Will sign language interpretation or captioning be available?
We are sorry to inform that the conference cannot provide you sign language interpreters. But we might give the information about sign language interpreter. It would cost about 200,000won per hour and should be made a reservation before you arrive.
What are the public transport options for getting to the conference venue?
From Incheon Airport, Gimpo Airport or Gimhae Airport, there are many ways to get to the EXCO Convention Center in Daegu. Recommended options for getting to the conference include:

Wheelchair accessibility: Incheon International Airport is a fully accessible facility. Upon request, service agents will provide assistance with entry documents, immigration procedures, and baggage claim, as well as escort to transportation. The airport is equipped with electric vehicles to shuttle passengers with mobility and visual impairments to and from the gates (Wheelchairs cannot access directly, need to transfer). Wheelchair accessibility: AREX is a railway line connects Incheon International Airport and Gimpo International Airport to downtown Seoul (Seoul Station). All stations and trains are fully accessible. Every train has designated areas for wheelchairs. In the KTX, 3 manual-wheelchairseats and 2 motored-wheelchair seats are available. Wheelchair service reservation is needed, advance in 15-30 min before departure. Better arrive at the station before 40 minutes of your departure and ask a wheelchair lift for boarding and landing, staff will arrange accessible facilities and service for you. Call Taxi SERVICES
Taxi (Nadri Call Daegu :+82-1577-6766 ) will help you to get to the EXCO Convention Center. This taxi service is only available for the passengers in wheelchairs and available only in Daegu. To apply for this service, you need to call and reserve taxi, at least 30 minutes before you take. If you would like to take this taxi, you need to show your passport. Can a student volunteer assist me during the conference?
Student volunteers will be available to assist attendees with disabilities with navigation, meal service, or other accessibility needs. If you will need volunteer assistance at the conference, please indicate this on your conference registration form.

What is the conference space like?

All conference events are on the 2nd and 3rd floor in EXCO. The conference is spread across two separate rooms on the different floor. The main session will be held in the conference room No. 325, breaks will be held in the foyer outside this room, and posters and demo sessions will take place in the foyer as well.The other session will be held in the conference room No. 211. A wheelchair accessible restroom is located on each level nearby general restrooms. The registration desk will be adjacent to the conference room No. 325 (The room arrangement will be changed later).

Will the conference be accessible by wheelchair or power scooter?
Yes, the conference will be accessible to wheelchair users. Elevators are available. But, power scooter will not be available to ride inside of EXCO.

What are the arrangements for presenters with accessibility needs?

Can I bring my guide dog?
Yes! Guide dogs and other service animals are welcome at HRI 2019. Please indicate on your registration form if you anticipate bringing a guide dog to the conference.
Can I attend the conference by robot?
Yes! HRI 2019 will be able to accommodate remote attendance by a robot.
How much walking or standing will be needed?
The conference will require minimal walking (about 5~10 minutes between mainroom and second room) as all oral presentations are held in a single room, with poster and demo sessions held in a separate room on the different floor. Several lounge chairs are available in the lobby, 3rd floor.

Will speakers and audience members asking questions be using a microphone?
Yes, microphones will be used for all speakers. Attendees with questions will be requested to use a microphone so that their question is more easily heard.
What food service will be provided?
The conference will provide coffee and cookies at coffee breaks. Dishes will be labeled. If you have special dietary needs, please indicate these clearly on your registration form.
Can the conference accommodate special dietary needs?
Yes. Attendees who indicate special dietary requirements on their registration form will be provided with special meals when the conference catering does not accommodate them. If you have a severe allergy or another special request, please indicate on your registration form.
Will the conference be a smoke-free environment?
There is one designated area outside on the first floor of the building. Smoking is prohibited in all areas except this area.
What if I have a medical emergency or health problem during the conference?
In case of emergency call 119 for an ambulance, A number of medical facilities including hospitals are located in close vicinity of the venue. If you require non-urgent medical care, please contact operation office (Room 334) or ask any student volunteer. They will provide you with information about local doctors, specialists, chiropractors, etc. For non-resident attendees, buying travel insurance that covers medical expenses is strongly recommended as fees for emergency treatment can be very high.
