HRI2022 Pilot Registration Waiver for Inclusivity
The goal of this pilot program is to increase the participation from countries, institutions, or populations that may not be able to access, attend, or publish at HRI due to special circumstances (political, financial, social, health-wise, lack of mentorship, etc). This program would waive the registration costs of the conference.
To this end, we are introducing a pilot registration fee waiver for HRI 2022. This will need to be applied for.
The checklist below summarizes the anonymization procedure.
There are a few considerations to be eligible. You must be at least one of:
- on the IEEE list of countries available for reduced registration fees https://www.ieee.org/membership/join/emember-countries.html
- Have some special circumstances that restrict you from having the means to attend or afford the conference (e.g., do not have sufficient income, are retired, unemployed, permanently disabled, or other). Categories are taken from https://www.ieee.org/membership/special-circumstances.html but are not limited to these.
- Be a student or researcher and are a first time HRI attendee (and, if you are a student, your supervisor has also not attended HRI).
Fee waivers will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to budget availability.
All applications will be reviewed by two members of the organizing committee.
Registration requests must be applied for by February 21st, 2022 and all applications will in general be reviewed the week they are submitted, with notification sent out by the following Monday.
Data will be anonymized after the conference.
